Last Week in a Kitchen Far, Far Away....

Well, duh, what would YOU have named a post about Star Wars cupcakes? These were from the second order I received a week and a half ago from a repeat customer for her 5 year old son's birthday party. Thankfully, since these were ordered the same day as the Wonderland cupcakes and for the same weekend, she was fine with the same flavors. Again, I used fondant and gel food coloring for the decorations, hand molded the light sabers, and cut the stars out with cutters.

This time I'm not going to post the recipes because they're the exact same as the ones in the previous post. The only difference with these cupcakes is that the customer wanted the cream cheese, chocolate buttercream, and vanilla buttercream icings to be mixed and matched with the various cake flavors. From what I hear, they were a big hit! (Music to my ears) :)

I also promised to tell you about our newest family member....

Hey, I'm Jax :)

Excuse the dark eyes. Aunt Cierra had fun photo editing me :)

I love laying in Aunt Candice's lap!

My favorite pastime!

Life is good....

Seriously!

Isn't he a sweetheart? We adopted him last Saturday and he's acclimating to his new surroundings pretty well. A few things about beagles...they're energetic (most puppies are)...they're stubborn...they're biters (gotta break this!)...but, most of all...they're so lovable and want constant attention! He went to his first vet check up yesterday and we found out that he has Coccidia which, apparently, is fairly common in dogs from rescue situations. You can imagine, though, what it was like hearing that we have a sick puppy after everything we went through with our sweet dog, Buddy. Thankfully, the vet said that he should be just fine in a few days with the medication. He acts completely healthy...he just has a little diarrhea problem...lovely! Other than that, he is a ball of energy and the potty training is coming along. I think we forgot how much work a new puppy can be! :) The verdict: we love him! He's ours for better or worse and we look forward to a long, happy, healthy relationship with this little guy!

I'm heading up to Ga to visit some friends and family for the weekend and next week will be working on a wedding cake, so I'm not sure how much blogging will get done. We'll see. I do, however, have another awesome giveaway coming up involving some fabulous new kitchen products so be watching for that! Until next time, happy reading and, more importantly, happy cupcake-ing!
